Marketing and Communications Manager

The Coalition for Inclusive Capitalism is looking to fill the role of Marketing and Communications Manager. For a candidate with vision, drive, and talent, this is an opportunity to play a key part in a growing and dynamic organization, influencing positive global change.

The Marketing and Communications manager works closely with the Chief Executive Officer and the Director of Thought Leadership to support the delivery of organizational objectives through internal and external communications. This will include proactive interaction with globally renowned leaders from global financial institutions, corporations, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, universities, think tanks and foundations. The key initial focus areas will be managing the participant outreach for our 2018 Conference on Inclusive Capitalism, which is taking place in November, and also ongoing communication with participants of the Embankment Project for Inclusive Capitalism. Another key part of the role will be boosting the social media presence of the Coalition and managing any incoming PR requests.

At a minimum the individual will be responsible for:

  • Planning, writing and delivering personalized and tailored communications with all participants of Coalition managed events, including electronic communication, hard-copy invitations and letters, telephone communications, social media and other channels.
  • Building and managing relationships with the offices of key contacts
  • Maintaining all participant profiles on the Coalition for Inclusive Capitalism’s website and database
  • Conducting the necessary research to ensure the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the information regarding participants, used for Coalition outreach, as well as monitoring the press and social media for associated articles
  • To give advice and support to other staff when dealing with key Coalition contacts

 

Candidates should have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a comparable role
  • Strong experience and strengths dealing with senior-level business stakeholders and proven ability to make and maintain relationships
  • High level of oral and written English
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Take personal responsibility for getting things done, and respond flexibly, in an environment where priorities and deadlines can change quickly
  • Ability to prioritize a varying workload with the capacity to make progress on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Powerful intellectual curiosity that keeps the candidate ahead on related topics and connections
  • High level of IT skills, specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Experience in the use of using CRM systems (Salesforce would be preferable)
  • The ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Understanding of social media channels (particularly Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram)
  • Understanding of the GDPR laws (effective May 2018)

Conference Program Manager – Short-term Contract

 

The Coalition for Inclusive Capitalism is searching for independent contractor to assist in the production of the 2018 Conference on Inclusive Capitalism taking place in Washington DC on November 16th, 2018. The contractor will report into the Coalition’s Director of Thought Leadership and Thought Leadership Manager based in New York.

 

The contractor will carry out the following services for the Coalition, including but not limited to:

  • Research and due diligence into the most exciting topics, themes, sessions, speakers, and moderators (including, without limitation, locating videos of potential speakers, researching their past and current public involvement in the potential inclusive capitalism agenda for consideration by the Coalition, drafting of solicitation approach and finalization of participant agreement) – and update of pre-existing content to ensure high-impact placement.
  • Production of a written conference program including intelligent narrative structure, topical sessions, and creative formats – that embody a sophisticated and international editorial style.
  • Continuous program optimization – to reflect new speakers and sessions – and identify opportunities for the conference to make news and impact (including assisting with composition of conference marketing).
  • Speaker and moderator engagement – working with the Coalition to decide who to invite to participate and assisting in the preparation of invitations, including unique and engaging approaches.
  • Speaker and moderator management – ongoing knowledge exchange between the conference teams and speakers and their offices to ensure sessions are effective, dynamic and on-point, in conjunction with the Coalition team to ensure the right information is being passed along.
  • Speaker and moderator preparation – including creation of detailed speaker briefs and leading advance calls/email threads to carefully co-design content and fully inform speakers and moderators of session goals.
  • Work with all relevant conference members of the Coalition organizing team, the PR team and video team to translate conference programs into high-impact multichannel content distribution, including online (website and social media), videos, and PR articles related to conference speakers and topics.

 

It should also be noted that the contractor should be available for weekly meetings or calls with the Coalition team. She/he must also be able to travel to Washington for the week of November 12th.

 

The contractor must demonstrate:

  • A successful history of high-level event production
  • Advanced understanding of international business and economic issues
  • Specialist knowledge of the investment industry
  • Confidence and diplomatic skills to handle senior leaders and unfamiliar topics
  • Writing ability on topics of economic, political, and societal reforms
  • Extraordinary work ethic and drive to achieve
  • Strong time management skills and fortitude to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • The drive to set and reach ambitious goals and be able to constantly raise the bar
  • An ability to work independently and an attitude of “no job is too small”
