Dr Fang Xinghai
Dr Fang Xinghai currently serves as Bureau Director, Office of the Central Leading Group for Financial and Economic Affairs, China and Adjunct Professor of the China Europe International usiness School (CEIBS) in Shanghai. He was selected as a “Young Global Leader” in 2005 by the World Economic Forum. He has published several books and regularly writes commentary articles for nternational and domestic financial media, including Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Finance and CBN Daily, among others. Dr Fang was Director of the Shanghai Municipal Office of Financial Services from October 2007 to May 2013 and Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Office of Financial Services from December 2005 o October 2007. From July 2001 to December 2005 he was Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Shanghai Stock Exchange. He was Secretary-General of the Management Committee, China Galaxy Securities Company rom September 2000 to June 2001. From August 1998 to August 2000 he was Director of the Group Coordination Office, China Construction Bank. In July 1993, Mr Fang was recruited by the World Bank through ts Young Professionals Program. He worked as an Economist and Investment Officer at the World Bank headquarters in Washington from July 1993 to August 1998. From 1988 to 1993, he studied at Stanford niversity where he received his PhD in Economics. Prior to this, from 1981 to 1986, he studied at the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, Beijing, and received his Bachelor’s Degree n Management Information Systems.
