Eva Halvarsson has been Chief Executive Officer of the Second Swedish National Pension Fund, AP2 since 2006. With SEK 300 billion (approx. USD 36 billion) under management in virtually every asset class and all parts of the world, AP2 is one of northern Europe’s largest pension funds. Before that she worked for ten years for the Swedish Government, responsible for the management of the large portfolio of state owned companies. She started her career as an accountant.
Ms Halvarsson took part in the working group that brought forward the Swedish Corporate Governance Code in 2004. She is now on the Swedish Corporate Governance board. She is also Deputy Chairman of the board of the University of Gothenburg and on the Board of Vasakronan and Norrporten, two of the largest real estate companies in Sweden.
Ms Halvarsson holds a MSc in Business and Economics from the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg.
