John Micklethwait is the Editor-in-Chief of The Economist. His previous roles include Business editor and United States editor. He joined The Economist in 1987 as a Finance Correspondent. Mr Micklethwait worked as a banker at Chase Manhattan between 1985 and 1987, after studying history at Magdalen College, Oxford.
John Micklethwait has co-authored five books: The Witch Doctor, A Future Perfect, The Company, The Right Nation and God is Back—the latest is due to be published in May 2014. He was named Editors’ ditor by the British Society of Magazine Editors in 2010. He is a trustee of the British Museum.
