Michael Latimer was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Ontario Municipal Employees’ Retirement System (OMERS) in 2014. Mr. Latimer joined the OMERS enterprise in 1997, and has more than 40 years of investment experience. He previously served as Chief Investment Officer of OMERS and has also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of OMERS real estate investment arm, Oxford Properties Group. Mr. Latimer is a former Chair and Board Member of the Real Property Association of Canada and former real estate and infrastructure advisory Board Member at the Schulich School of Business at York University. He was also President and Chief Executive Officer of the 1997 Special Olympics World Winter Games, Chairman of the Sports Celebrities Festival, and honorary board of the Canadian Paraplegic Association. In 2012 and 2013, Mr. Latimer was recognized as one of the world’s most influential asset owners globally by Asset International’s Chief Investment Officer Magazine.
