Ng Kok Song

Ng Kok Song is Advisor and Chair of Global Investments at GIC Private Limited (GIC). As Advisor to GIC, Mr Ng serves on the Investment Strategies Committee, the Group Executive Committee, nd GIC’s International Advisory Board chaired by former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew.

He was previously GIC’s Chief Investment Officer until February 2013, after a 42 year career in the investment management of Singapore’s foreign reserves. The Government of Singapore awarded him the eritorious Service Award in 2012.

He has been the founder Chairman of the Wealth Management Institute since 2003 and also serves on the Singapore Capital Markets Committee of MAS, and the CFA Institute’s Advisory Council for the Future of Finance”. Mr Ng is currently on the Board of Directors of Makena Capital, a USA based investment management company; serving long term institutional investors.

In 2004 the Government of France conferred on him the award of “La Croix de Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur”, after having been a member of the Strategic Committee of Agency France Tresor since 2001.

Mr Ng joined GIC in 1986, and from 1983 to 1987 was the founding Chairman of the Singapore International Monetary Exchange (SIMEX), now incorporated into the Singapore Exchange, where he has been Board Director since September 2013.

Prior to joining GIC, he held positions at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) from 1972-1986, and the Ministry of Finance from 1970-1971.

Mr Ng graduated in Physics from the University of Singapore, and in Management from Stanford University, USA.
